NWS Poet Profile Films

Between September of 2003 and April of 2005, NWS organizer Steve Evans collaborated with filmmaker Jim Sharkey to make digital-video documentaries of all the writers who visited Orono as part of the New Writing Series. VHS copies of these “poet profiles,” which range between thirty minutes and an hour each, are available through the UMaine English Department (write to steven dot evans at maine dot edu for more information). Plans to bring online excerpts from the NWS Poet Profiles, along with archival footage from New Writing Series events from 1999 to the present, are currently in the works. Check this blog for updates.
